Hey guys. I am WAY behind on my ST/SW consumption, but had the chance to watch this episode last night and listen to your podcast this morning. Regarding „complimentary not additive“: I am a semi-professional cellist. In my cello section, when I play alone against the violins, I sound thin and weedy. Add one cello, and we sound wonderful IF we are playing in tune. The sound waves of our instruments combine and resonate within the body of the instruments, and suddenly two celli sound like four. However, played out of tune and out of sync, it‘s just two thin and weedy instruments fighting a forest of violins and violas (bonus point - the ultimate number is three celli since the third cancels out wayward oscillations). So, the sum is more than the parts. That‘s good science. Phasers are light waves and in theory, should operate on the same principle of intensity. Complimentary not additive.
